In my artwork I have experimented mainly with acrylic paint, charcoal and graphite pencils. My main goal is to express realism in my work, whether it be a black and white sketch or a colorful painting. I do this by taking time to include fine detail in my work and using shading techniques to provide depth. This usually allows me to get the detail I am looking for. I know I’ve completed a piece that I am happy with when I can stand back and examine my work without feeling the need to retouch any part of it. It also brings me a sense of accomplishment when I hear others compliment my work. I am always striving for improvement, and hearing other people’s thoughts on my artwork, whether it be constructive criticism or a compliment, encourages me to keep moving forward with it.
